Zomba Taxi Operators protest Relocation

Taxi Operators in Zomba are boycotting business fees following a relocation to their old business place.

The relocation comes as Zomba City Council (ZCC) is upgrading the 800-meter stretch of Namiwawa road from single carriage to dual carriage.

Taxi Operators Association Chairperson, Abdul Dyton, says the action is being taken as one way of wanting ZCC to relocate Mpunga, Sadzi, Chikanda, and Newroad operators to their designated place as they are interfering with their business.

ZCC’s Principal Investment Promotion Officer, Maurice Tsoka Banda, says management will engage the operators on the way forward.
