The principal resident magistrate court in Zomba has set free human rights activist Bon Kalindo who was arrested for inciting violence during anti-government protests in the same district.
In his ruling principal resident magistrate Martin Chipofya said government has failed to prove beyond reasonable doubt that Kalindo committed a crime.
Chipyofa further said that, according to the witnesses, it shows that, the violence done after demonstrations happened
Kalindo was arrested following demonstrations in Zomba that ended in a fog of tear gas due to violence.
This was the third arrest of Kalindo this year, following a series of arrests for possession of a firearm and spreading false information.
