Police in Zambia have confirmed the death of Aaron Zulu, aged 30, during a football match between Kafue Bus and Taxi Drivers football team and their counterparts from Chikankata, yesterday.
According to Kafue Police Officer In-Charge Jason Lungu, Aaron collapsed and suddenly died at the peak of the game, forcing the referee to end the game prematurely.
One of the eye witnesses, James Mwale said football first aiders tried to help Aaron just after he collapsed but realized that the problem was beyond their capacity to help which made them to report the matter to Turn Pike Police.
Aaron was quickly rushed to the hospital where he was pronounced dead up arrival.
The body of Aaron has since been deposited in the Kafue General Hospital mortuary awaiting postmortem.
Police have instituted investigations to ascertain the cause of Aaron’s sudden death.
