Police in Mulanje have launched an investigation to trace an individual suspected to have dumped a newly born baby in Muloza River.

Police spokesperson in Mulanje Sub-Inspector, Gresham Ngwira has confirmed of the development in an interview with the press.

According to Ngwira, the body of the baby was found floating in the river on Wednesday afternoon.

He said police took the body to Mulanje District Hospital Mortuary as they continue with their investigations.
