Dowa Police Spokesperson Alice Sitima has confirmed the arrest of a Rwandan national, Emmanuel Ahorukomeye, and eight Malawians for various criminal activities.
The suspects allegedly engaged in offenses such as purchasing farm produce without licenses, possessing Indian hemp, and distributing counterfeit products.
Sitima disclosed that the suspects, aged between 18 to 45, will soon face formal charges in court.
The arrest marks a significant development in cracking down on criminal syndicates operating in the Dowa district.
