Law Expert Criticizes ACB On Discontinuation Case Of Chilima

A Professor of Law at the University of Malawi Garton Kamchedzera hints that the Anti-Corruption Bureau-ACB has lost a chance of proving to Malawians its ability to handle high profile cases.

This follows the discontinuation of an alleged corruption case involving Vice President Saulos Chilima.

Judge Redison Kapindu issued a certificate of discontinuance of corruption charges against Chilima and lifted his bail conditions.

The Director of Public Prosecutions is supposed to provide reasons for the discontinuance of the case to the parliamentary Legal Affairs Committee within ten days.

This is in accordance with section 99 subsection 3 of the Constitution.
