The Malawi Police Services (MPS) and Malawi Defence Force (MDF) have instituted investigations into the death of a private soldier Franklin Baluwa Nkhata who was found dead on Saturday morning.
MDF Acting spokesperson Major Calvin Emmanuel Mlelemba has confirmed the development.
According to Kawale Police Station Spokesperson Mavuto Phiri, Nkhata was found lying in a pool of blood outside his hostel at Kamuzu Barracks.
Further details of his death remain unclear at this point.
But an audio clip of a eulogy delivered during the burial of the late Nkhata, which is circulating on WhatsApp, a representative of his family said they are suspecting foul play and are pointing fingers at the MDF.
