Malawi University of Science and Technology Vice Chancellor, Professor Address Malata, has being awarded the 2024 University of San Francisco, California (UCSF) Presidential Chair Award.

The United States Embassy in Malawa has congratulated Malata for being awarded.

“Malata is fit for the purpose as she is the first female vice chancellor at a public university in Malawi, a  trailblazing academic in science, technology, mathematics and an advocate for child and maternal health” said the embassy.

The award will see her serving as a distinguished visiting professor in UCSF’ Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics for one year, beginning July this year.
