Lack of medical supplies threatens Mchinji Communities lives

Mchinji Director of Health and Social Services (DHSS), Juliana Kanyengambeta has disclosed that the district hospital has inadequate medical supplies.

She was speaking during an interface meeting with community representatives at the hospital on Tuesday.

Kanyengambeta said that due to the shortage of stock patients are being told to buy medicines from private pharmacies and clinics.

“The Hospital is short of medical supplies and to curb the problem patients are being told to buy medicines from private pharmacies and clinics as a remedy to the shortage,” she said.

The Community through Group Village Head Robert were concerned that poor people who cannot afford to buy the medicines from private pharmacies will face disturbing realities with illnesses.
