Health Ministry Halts Mandatory Covid-19 Vaccination Plans

Ministry of Health has halted plans to administer mandatory vaccination to all frontline workers arguing that it is still receiving feedback from the public on the Covid-19 vaccine.

Spokesperson in the Ministry, Adrian Chikumbe said after getting feedback, the Ministry will then consult the office of the Attorney General on the matter before presenting it to the general public.

Health activist, George Jobe has welcomed this development saying the information being collected should be formalized and made public.

Yesterday, high court in Lilongwe dismissed with costs a case in which Center for Democracy and Economic Development Initiatives (CDEDI) and one person Mundango Nyirenda wanted to move for judiciary review of the government plan to introduce mandatory COVID 19 vaccination in some sectors.
