Demonstrations organized by the youth fighting against selective justice in solidarity with a 19 year old Mussa John are yet to start in Blantyre today.

Concerned youth, led by hip hop musician Penjani Kalua well known as Fredokiss in the music circle wants president Lazarus Chakwera to pardon the 19 year old who was arrested, convicted and currently serving a 3 year jail term at Chichiri Prison for being found with Chamba.

Meanwhile, people have started gathering at clock tower in Blantyre where the demonstrations will commence from.

The protesters will deliver their petition to President Chakwera through the district commissioner’s office in Blantyre.

Initially, Mussa was sentenced to 8 years imprisonment with hard labor before his sentence was reduced to 3 after a review, however, the youth think it is not enough.

According to them, Mussa received a harsh sentence because he has nothing yet if foreigners and rich people are caught up in the same situation they only get fined, hence the demonstrations.
