FDH Bank oils Sand Music Festival

FDH Bank plc has entered into a K15 million partnership with Impakt Events Management, organisers of the annual Sand Music Festival.

The two unveiled their partnership on Thursday afternoon during a media briefing at the home-grown bank’s headquarters in Blantyre.

FDH Bank plc public relations and marketing manager Lorraine Chikhula said they want to use the festival’s platform to reach out to their clients.

She said the bank, a subsidiary of FDH Financial Holdings Limited, has a wide portfolio which they use to promote initiatives such as the music festival.

“This is a big festival which attracts people from across Malawi and abroad. We want to use this platform to interact with our customers and promote Malawian arts and culture,” said Chikhula.

Impakt Events Management lead Nkhwachi Mhango said the FDH Bank plc gesture demonstrates that the institution understands where there is value. He pledged to do anything to ensure that they give back the same value.

He said: “This is the biggest assistance that we have received in a long time. It shows that the bank understands what it takes to organise an event of such magnitude. We will make sure that this assistance is reflected on the organisation of the event.”

This year’s event will take place at Kambiri Beach Resort in Salima from September 30 to October 2. The organisers have announced that tickets for the three-day event will be sold at K35 000.

Mhango said they will unveil headline acts in the course of the week. Last year Jamaican Gramps Morgan and South Africa’s hotshot Makhazi headlined the event.
