Ex-miners holding vigils in Mzuzu

Ex-miners in Mzuzu are holding vigils to force the government to pay them their pension after working in the mines in South Africa.

The ex-miners have written the ministry of labour to process their 320 Alexander Forbes forms which they filled as their registration.

According to Chitsulo Mughogho, Director of the group says they have been filling the forms for a long time but to no avail.

“We have been filling the forms for many years and the latest form filling was in September last year and since then we have heard nothing from them,” he said.

The ex-miners started the demonstrations from Katoto ground to Mzuzu Civic offices to present their petition.
