Court Denies Bail To Ten People Nabbed For Robbery In Ntcheu

The Ntcheu First Grade Magistrate Court has denied bail to ten people who were arrested at Kachipeya near Lizulu Trading center in the district for blocking the M1 road and robbery.

They are answering four counts thus; causing malicious damage, endangering the life of road users, robbery and theft which they all denied.

Police prosecutor, Samie Liwonde has opposed the application arguing the suspects are answering serious charges and that they can escape bail.

He adds the suspects are also answering the same charges at the Senior Resident Magistrate Court.

In his bail ruling, First Grade Magistrate Chimdima Phiri agrees with the state hence denied the suspects bail.

Phiri has since adjourned the case to Monday, 16 May 2022 for the commencement of hearing.
