President Lazars Chakwera and vice president Saulos Chilima have met in public for the first time this year.

The two are gracing the memorial service of the country’s hero Reverend Chilembwe’s at Providence Industrial Mission (PIM) in Chiradzulu district.

The two are leading Malawians in remembering the fallen hero.

This year’s commemorations are being held under the theme ‘Heal us Lord’.

President Chakwera, alongside First Lady Monica Chakwera has led in laying of wreaths at Chilembwe’s Memorial Tower, before a church service.
