Nsanje Police Arrest Two Men for Allegedly Killing a Man Over Dispute with Ex-Wife’s New Spouse

Police in Nsanje are keeping in custody for allegedly killing a 35 year old man Anon Thyolamiti.

Nsanje Police Station Public Relations Officer Sub-Inspector Agnes Zalakoma confirmed the arrests.

She identified the suspects as Robert Lojasi, 28, of Bulaya village, and Laisoni Felo, 22, of Nkolimbo village in Senior Chief Mlolo in the district.

According to Zalakoma, the deceased had been married to a woman whom he divorced and later married to Lojasi, who reportedly always provoked the deceased whenever they met.

She said, “On 11th this month the deceased met Robert Lojasi who provoked him and Amoni decided to inform the parents of the former wife about the behavior of the incumbent husband.”

Zalakoma added that while doing that, the second suspect, who happens to be the brother of the wife, came and began assaulting the deceased using steel bars.

On January 12, 2023, Amoni reported the matter to Fatima Police Post where he was issued with a referral letter for medical examination and treatment.

He unfortunately passed away at Nsanje District Hospital while receiving treatment.

Post-mortem conducted has established that Amoni died of internal excessive loss of blood.

The suspects will appear before court to answer charges of murder.

The deceased hailed from Nkolimbo village in Senior Chief Mlolo in Nsanje.
