Bullets cautious of rookies Dedza Dynamos

Nyasa Big Bullets coach Callisto Pasuwa says this afternoon’s TNM Super League match against rookies Dedza Dynamos at Balaka Stadium will not be a stroll in the park for the champions.

The People’s Team has a chance to go top of the 16-team league if they win by a two-goal margin to dislodge Blue Eagles who lead with 10 points.

Pasuwa said he expects resistance from the newly-promoted outfit which has already proved tough in the top-flight league.

The Zimbabwean tactician, who has assembled a young squad of up-and-coming players, said Bullets will have to sweat blood to collect maximum points from the mid-week fixture.

Pasuwa: It is a tricky fixture

He said: “We need to fight our lungs out to get a result. These teams which are coming from lower leagues are motivated.

“They can play any type of football. They are tough. So, it’s a game which is going to be very difficult for us.”

Dedza stunned Kamuzu Barracks (KB) 2-1 in their previous match, but coach Dan Dzinkambani said they need to avoid getting carried away by the victory.

He said: “Yes, we were victorious in the game against Kamuzu Barracks, but we have put that victory behind us. We need to focus on tomorrow’s [this afternoon] game.”

Dedza also have a squad of up-and-coming players, most of whom are playing in the top-flight league for the first time.

Ironically, Bullets and Dedza are tied at seven points apiece, but the defending champions are on third position on better goal difference.

Dedza have two wins against KB and Rumphi United and a draw against Karonga United.

Bullets are unbeaten, having won against Mighty Wanderers and Ekwendeni Hammers and drawn against Blue Eagles in their last match.

Second-placed Kamuzu Barracks, fifth-placed Silver Strikers, sixth-placed Mighty Wanderers and seventh-placed Red Lions also have seven points apiece.
