Agriculture Extension Officer Dies in Road Accident in Balaka, Minibus Driver On The Run

In Balaka, 47-year-old agriculture extension development officer Albert Patrick Kalambo died this morning after a motorcycle he was travelling by collided with a minibus in the Mpulula area along Liwonde – Balaka road.

District police publicist Gladson M’bumpha said the accident occurred when the driver of the minibus registration number MN 4920, Luka Dzombe, lost control of the vehicle due to overspeeding, which resulted in a head-on collision.

M’bumpha said police have so far launched a manhunt for the minibus driver, who is currently at large.

Albert Patrick Kalambo of Mwenekabwe village, under Traditional Authority Kyungu in Karonga, sustained a neck fracture and multiple fractures on the right arm and leg before his demise.
