Activists Gives 10-Days Ultimatum To Reverse Amnesty

Human rights activists and some concerned citizens have given Attorney General Thabo Chakaka Nyirenda 10 days ultimatum to reverse 60 days amnesty to corruption suspects and have also asked president Lazarus Chakwera to dismiss him.

Speaking at a joint press briefing yesterday in Lilongwe, Executive Director for Centre for Democracy and Economic Development Initiatives (CDEDI) Sylvester Namiwa and activist Bon Kalindo have asked the president to fulfill his promise to fight corruption and allow the Anti Corruption Bureau to operate without political interference.

They have also given 10 days to director general of the country’s graft busting body Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) Martha Chizuma to arrest all people involved in Zuneth Sattar’s case.
