Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) Member of Parliament for Zomba Chisi constituency Mark Bottomani has been elected as new chairperson of the Public Accounts Committee of Parliament.

Bottoman replaced Shadric Namalomba who is now serving as spokesperson for former President Peter Mutharika.

Shadow Minister of Information Bottomani went unopposed during an election held yesterday at parliament.

The election of Bottomani has attracted mixed reactions with many claiming that the camp of Kondwani Nankhumwa continues to outclass Mutharika’s camp.

Currently Mutharika and Nankhumwa are in bad blood over the post of leader of opposition in Parliament.
