Authorities in Zimbabwe have arrested a 40 year old man David Kaseke who filmed himself claiming to be the buyer of human toes.
Kaseke, a cellphone dealer from Harare was arrested after he made a video claiming to be an agent of a syndicate which buys human toes.
He has since been charged with criminal nuisance.
But when he appeared in court to answer charges leveled against him, Kaseke said he was under the influence of alcohol when making the video.
Last week, social media platforms were awash with pictures and video of people claiming to have cut their toes and sold them to a businessman in Zimbabwe for as much as $26,000.
When the video went viral, Zimbabwe government instituted a probe into the matter and the outcome found out to be a joke taken out of context.
However, the government said the joke had become part of a mission to tarnish the country’s mage hence a move to arrest the man who started it.
