A Zimbabwean man identified as Frank Padzi appeared before court after he heavily assaulted wife Chiedza Tarwireyi, after he discovered condoms and ARVs in their home.

Padzi assaulted his wife to death, who was on ARVs treatment. In his defence, Padzi said it was not his intention to kill his wife.

Court reports indicate that Padzi arrived home and knocked on the door, his wife was reluctant to open. Upon opening the door, an argument rose. ARVs and used condoms were discovered in the couples bedroom.

Padzi took baton and started beating his wife untill they went to bed. In the morning, Padzi discovered that his wife was not breathing.

He poured water on her but failed to resuscitate her. He invited neighbors for help but she was already gone.

High Court Judge, Justice Martin Makonese convicted Padzi was negligent in his actions by taking law into his hands a decision which led to the death of his wife.
