Zambian student who died in Ukraine fighting for Russia to be laid to rest today, see pictures of his memorial

The remains of a Zambian student who died four months ago in Ukraine fight for Russia while fighting for Russia in the Ukraine/Russia war, will be laid to rest today Rufunsa.

Lemekani Nathan Nyirenda, was pursuing nuclear engineering at Moscow Engineering Institute is testament of his academic prowess, unfortunately, he was sentenced to nine years imprisonment in Russia, on charges of drug possession in 2020 before he somehow found himself in war front in a battle that has pitted Russia against Ukraine last September.

His body arrived in his home country Zambia about a month ago after several weeks, he will be finally buried today.

Nyirenda’s memorial service which was graced by his family and childhood friends took place yesterday at the Lusaka Baptist Church in Lusaka’s Rhodes Park area.

Nyirenda’s mother said the death of her son feels like a dream adding that he used to assure her that he would come home for his family.

The mother then said her family will put their trust in God on the demise of their son.
