Police in Zambia have arrested Former Deputy Patriotic Front Secretary General, Mumbi Phiri over the death of UPND Cadre Lawrence Banda in Kaoma.

Her Lawyer Jonas Zimba confirmed the development saying she is currently detained at Lusaka Police Headquarters.

Police Spokesperson Rae Hamoonga said police had earlier summoned Ms Phiri but could not turn up as she was not feeling well.

Mumbi was arrested with her friend Shabby Chilekwa Chisenga aged 34.

The two will appear before court soon.
