Zambian Chief Mpezeni Warns Of Unsaid Consequences If Thieves who Stole His Car Fail To Return It

Paramount Chief Mpezeni of the Ngoni People has ordered people who stole his car to take it back to his palace within 5 days or risk facing far reaching consequences.

Speaking in Chipata at his palace today, Mpezani warned that if the thieves do no return the car by Thursday next week, he will have no choice but to report the matter for further actions.

He disclosed that according to Ngoni and Zulu Tradition, it is a taboo for a subject to steal anything from a traditional leader, adding that what thieves did will have grave consequences on them and their children.

Mpezani has since demanded that when returning the car, thieves should ensure it has a full tank of fuel and they must also have K10, 000 cash for cleansing.

“Once they bring the car before Thursday, thieves won’t be taken to police, they will be forgiven,” Chief Mpezani assured the thieves.

The Thieves are suspected to have taken keys from one of Mpezani’s posh cars at the Ephendukeni palace on 24th February, 2022 when the Traditional leader was shifting to Laweni palace in Myenguleni.

However, while thousands of people were celebrating one of the country’s best rich cultural heritage, the Nc’wala ceremony last weekend, a man took advantage of the event to allegedly steal a vehicle belonging to the host, Paramount Chief Mpezani.
