Zambia police charges woman who was found naked chained to a tree at Freedom Statue

After causing a stir at the Freedom statue in Lusaka yesterday through her protest, 28 year old Dorcas Nachibona has been charged with Disorderly conduct.

Nachibona chained herself to the gates of the freedom statue and hid the keys while placing a placard which read “No Visa waivers for China plus 17 others.”

After viewing the Closed-circuit Television (CCTV) at our Command Center, the police saw Nachibona placing a placard at the Freedom Statue, chaining herself and hiding the keys in her underwear.

While seated, Nachibona helped herself with some beverage believed to be alcoholic before she was picked up by police.

Zambia Police deputy spokesperson Danny Mwale disclosed that the young lady has been charged with the offence of Idle and Disorderly contrary to Section 178 (f ) of the Penal Code Chapter 87 of the Laws of Zambia.

Mwale said Nachibona remains in police custody awaiting court appearance.
