Zambia police charges two abductors of 13 girls

After a saga which left 13 young ladies scarred for life and the country in awe of the fact that two 22 year-olds were capable of atrocities such as rape, abduction among other offences, the police have finally managed to pin down the duo by formally arresting and charging them.

James Mulenga and Mathews Sikaonga have been formally charged and arrested for aggravated robbery, abduction, rape and assault.

The duo are believed to be behind the abduction mobile money agents among them Pamela Chisumpa and female student nurses at a named college in Chilanga.

On October 3, the 13 young ladies were discovered in Lusaka’s Chalala while the perportraitors made a run for it and were later caught in Nkeyema Western Province the following day.

The young women were taken for medical check ups and Psychosocial counselling by Government before they were returned to their families.

Zambia Police Deputy Spokesperson Danny Mwale told journalists today that the two will soon appear before the courts of law
