Women in uniform join fight against GBV

The Eastern Region police women has joined the public in the fight against Gender-Based Violence (GBV).

Among others, the women urged communities members not to suffer in silence but reports cases GBV cases to relevant authorities.

The female officers said this during a GBV- sensitization tour in the old capital city as part of the three-day “Basadi operation”

Similar activity took place in Blantyre where women in uniform from different security agencies joined that activity.

South West Region Female security officers from police, prison and immigration departments marched in the commercial city towards peace and security for all, including the most vulnerable.

The activity aimed at eliminating gender based violence and ending suicide cases.

This comes at a time the country is commemorating 16 day of activism against GBV.
