A woman in Lilongwe was on Monday stoned to death for allegedly being accused of bewitching a relative to death.

Lilongwe Police Public Relations Officer Inspector Hastings Chigalu has confirmed of the development in an interview with the press and identified the deceased as Linet Nsato.

The incident happened in the area of Mtumbira Village in Traditional Authority Mazengera in Lilongwe.

The law enforcers have since launched an investigation on the matter.

Meanwhile, no arrest has been made so far.
