Woman arrested for using someone’s name to vote in Dedza Central by-elections

A woman in her late 20s has been arrested for allegedly using someone’s name to vote in the Dedza Central by-elections.

The woman who did not register used the name of Judith Banda to vote.

The Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) discovered the anomaly after the owner of the name appeared at the polling center to cast her vote.

Meanwhile, Banda has voted with the help from the Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC).

The suspect is currently under interrogation.
