Winiko’s bail ruling set for today

The Lilongwe Magistrate Court is today scheduled to deliver a bail ruling in case where former United Transformation Movement (UTM) National Youth Director Bon Kilindo is accused of tampering with ESCOM meters.

Kalindo, popularly known as Winiko was arrested on Wednesday last week on allegations that of tampering with electricity meter which according to the state attracts K5 million fine and 10 years imprisonment.

On Thursday, Kalindo appeared before Senior Resident Magistrate Florence Msekandiana for formal charges and bail application.

But the presiding magistrate adjourned the case today after hearing arguments from both sides.

Kalindo is currently remanded at Maula Prison.
