Winiko, Namiwa, Chisa Mbele call for Chakwera’s resignation, to hold demonstrations on October 27

A grouping of Human Rights Organisations in the country has described President Lazarus Chakwera as “too a compromised person who should not be allowed to continue leading the country.”

The group, comprising Citizens Against Corruption and Impunity, Centre for Democracy and Economic Development Initiatives (CDEDI), Concerned Citizens, Forum for Economic Advocacy among others, says Chakwera has not only lost direction in handling government affairs but also failed to deal with corrupt individuals, most of which are his inner cycle, plunging the country into a leadership crisis.

Meanwhile, the group has disclosed that it will hold mass demonstrations in Lilongwe to push for Chakwera’s resignation on Thursday, October 27, 2022.

Some the notable activists at the briefing are Joshua Chisa Mbele, Bon Kalindo, Sylvester Namiwa, Phunziro Mvula and Agape Khombe.
