Southern Region Water Board (SRWB ) has disconnected water at the premises of former Malawi Defense Force (MDF) Colonel John Matewele for illegal water connection.

Public Relations Manager for the board, Ritta Makwangwala has confirmed this saying connecting water without knowledge of the board is against the law.

She was speaking on the sidelines of a door to door campaign aimed at identifying and uprooting all illegal water connections in various parts of Zomba district.

She further appealed to Zomba city residents to report to the board if they find out that any customer connected water illegally.

She lamented that the board is losing over 500 million Kwacha every year due to illegal water connections.
