Wanderers ordered to honour tomorrow’s Airtel Top 8 match against Silver Strikers

Football Association of Malawi (FAM) has told Mighty Mukuru Wanderers that their second leg match against Silver Strikers in the Airtel Top8 will go ahead as scheduled.

The development has come after Wanderers issued a letter stating that they will not play the second-leg match in the Airtel Top8 until the matter is held and resolved.

According to a letter signed by FAM, Chief Executive officer, Alfred Gunda the match will be played tomorrow as scheduled.

“As regards to the 2nd leg match between Mighty Mukuru Wanderers and Silver Strikers scheduled for Wednesday, December 6, 2023 will proceed to be played in accordance with Articles 8.5 and 8.6 of the 2023 Airtel Top 8 Rules and Regulations,” reads part of the statement.

FAM through its Competitions Committee, ordered Mighty Mukuru wanderers to pay K 24million, following abandonment of Airtel top 8 match between the team and Silver on 23 September 2023.
