Voting Underway In Dedza

Voting is underway in the Dedza Central parliamentary by-elections as 47,713 people cast their ballot.

The constituency fell vacant following the death of its legislator Daniel Chiwere in July this year.

According to Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) Director of Media and Communication Sangwani Mwafulirwa, Malawi Congress Party (MCP) Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) and an independent candidate are competing for the constituency.

Their candidates are Willard Alfred Gwengwe, Andrew Ndekha Ntunga Kowedza and Jacob Joseph Kaumphawi.
