United Transformation Movement (UTM) supporters are today scheduled to hold street parade following a court decision to drop corruption case involving State Vice President Dr. Saulos Chilima.
On Friday last week the state through Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) Masauko Chamkakala applied to court to have the Chilima’s corruption case discontinued.
The application forced Judge Redson Kapindu to rescheduled the plea taking by Chilima to this Friday 10 May 2024.
But yesterday Redson Kapindu issued a certificate of discontinuance of the corruption charges against State Vice President Saulos Chilima as requested by the state.
This pleased many UTM supporters who have organized the street parade in Lilongwe as one way of expressing their happiness that their leader is now a free man.
In Lilongwe, the street parade will start from area 18 to area 12 where Chilima stays while in Mzuzu The parade will start from UTM office to Mzuzu High Court.
Meanwhile, Chilima is ye to comment on the matter.
