The United States of America through its embassy in Lilongwe has strongly condemned the ongoing attempt by the Tonse Alliance government to suspend Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) Director General Martha Chizuma over a leaked audio clip.

The condemnation follows an application by the Attorney General Thabo Chakaka Nyirenda challenging the reinstatement of Chizuma.

In a statement made available to faceofmalawi, the US government has said the move has severely damaged the credibility of Tonse Alliance’s fight against corruption.
