Activist Bon Kalindo has pleaded not guilty to an offense of tampering with an electricity meter or measuring instrument and apparatus.

The state in its submission has asked for further remand of the accused person since investigations regarding the matter are still underway.

The state has further told the court that an electrician who was supposed to be arrested along with Kalindo is still at large and investigators are on the ground pursuing the electrician’s arrest.

As the state wants the matter adjourned for seven days for further investigations, a lawyer for Kalindo, Gilbert Khonyongwa, has applied for bail for his client.

Kalindo is currently on bail on two other matters in Lilongwe and Zomba.
