Unpaid Interns Seek Salaries from National Registration Bureau

Over 82 interns who participated in the second phase of the National ID outreach and community death registration exercises conducted by the National Registration Bureau (NRB) are still awaiting their payments.

Some of the internees in Thyolo and Machinga said they were expected to receive K150,000 each, but this did not happen, forcing them to use their money in the field exercise from August 21 to September 6, 2023.

The outreach phase encompassed Thyolo, Machinga, Salima, and Karonga districts.

The NRB’s principal secretary, Mphatso Sambo, has indicated that he will address the matter at a later time.
