Unknown Thugs steal 33 iPads From Kauwa Primary School in Mzuzu

Unknown thugs have stolen 33 iPads for  424 Standard 2 learners in ICT basics at Kauwa Primary School in Mzuzu City.
The Head teacher of the school Isaac Jere has confirmed the accident and  said that unknown suspects who are currently at large, on July 5, 2023 broke into a store room and stole 33 iPads valued at K16,500,000.
Jere said the iPads were donated to the school in 2020 by Voluntary Services Overseas, an organization based in France with an aim of supporting ICT education at the school and the country as a whole.
“The ICT lessons provided good foundation for the learners to acquire basic ICT skills and this incident is a great setback to expectations.
“We reported the matter to police. We are hopeful that the culprits will be brought to book and the stolen items recovered,” said Jere.
Meanwhile, Jere said the school with relevant authorities has stepped up its security measures to avoid a repeat of a similar scenario.
