A gang of suspected criminals has in the wee hours of today invaded Energem filling station at Tengani trade center in Nsanje, fleeing with undisclosed amount of cash and fuel.
Nsanje Police spokesperson Sub Inspector Agnes Zalakoma has confirmed of the incident in an interview with the press.
According to Zalakoma, the suspected criminals used a saloon motor vehicle in the robbery which was allegedly spotted heading to Bangula direction.
She said the suspected criminals were armed with metal bars and wooden sticks, attacked the pump station’s watchmen and tied them with ropes before the alleged robbery.
Just last month, a gang of thugs, allegedly robbed Bangula businessman of cash amounting to K10 million realised from farm produce sales.
