Information reaching Face of Malawi indicates that unknown people have damaged Electricity Supply Corporation of Malawi (ESCOM) transformer last night at Khonjeni in Thyolo.

Reports indicate that the suspects have dismantled some parts from the power infrastructure.

The situation has caused some areas including Khonjeni to have no power supply till this morning. It has left many businesses at standstill since they rely on electricity to operate.

Meanwhile, ESCOM officials and police from Thyolo are yet to comment on the matter.
