Ukraine President describes attack on a maternity ward by a Russian air strike as a war crime

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has called the attack on a maternity ward and a children’s ward by a Russian air strike as a war crime.

The destruction on a hospital in the southern city of Mariupol is colossal according to the city council.

Meanwhile, Ukraine and Russia’s foreign ministers have landed in Turkey to hold peace talks as the US warns that Russia could be planning a chemical or biological attack in Ukraine.

Over the past two days, Ukrainian fighter jets and anti-aircraft missile units have destroyed four Su-25 attack aircraft and two Russian helicopters as per statement from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in its daily morning update.

Us lawmakers have passed a $13.6bn aid plan for Ukraine, while the IMF has approved $1.4bn in emergency funding.
