Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky says nobody will break them as he introduced a temporary visa-free policy for foreigners wishing to join their forces fighting Russian military intervention.
With reports that the Freedom Square in central Kharkiv, Ukraine’s second city, has been hit by a Russian strike, causing a huge explosion, President Zelensky announced the formation of a new division, the international legion of Ukrainian territorial defense, which will be staffed by foreigners.
The foreigners, alongside Ukrainians, will fight to repel Russian invaders as UK Prime minister Boris Johnson accused Russia of barbaric and indiscriminate attacks with a huge convoy of Russian armoured vehicles advancing on Ukraine’s capital Kyiv.
According to local sources, the government has already received thousands of application but the policy, which was made official today, doesn’t apply to Russian nationals, who are referred to as citizens of the aggressor state according to a directive signed by Ukraine’s President Zelensky.
