UDF Demands Police Professionalism After Attack on DPP Supporters in Lilongwe

The United Democratic Front-UDF has issued a stern call for police professionalism following the assault on Democratic Progressive Party-DPP supporters in Lilongwe over the weekend.

Party spokesperson Yusuf Mwawa emphasized, “Such barbaric acts remain a serious threat to the country’s democracy and need to be stopped.”

Mwawa further urged the youth to resist being manipulated by unpatriotic politicians for violent ends.

Meanwhile, National Police spokesperson Peter Kalaya confirmed that investigations are ongoing, with no arrests made thus far in connection to the incident.

The attack occurred as DPP supporters gathered in Mbowe to kick off their ‘Blue Convoy Parade,’ aimed at bolstering the party’s image ahead of the 2025 elections.
