A driver of a construction truck is in critical condition following a head on collision with another truck at St. Teresa primary school, along the Robert Mugabe highway in Chiradzulu.

The accident happened on Tuesday afternoon.

An eye witness, Charles Luwanda told the press that the driver of the construction truck which carried sand was attempting to avoid from his lane a stationary vehicle before the collision.

Luwanda said at the time they pulled him out of the vehicle he had suffered multiple head injuries. He was rushed to Nguludi Mission Hospital.

The other driver from a truck belonging to Lilongwe Dairy 2001 limited escaped with bruises.
