Police in Blantyre have arrested two prison officer at Chichiri Prisoner in connection with a prison break that took place at the facility last week.

Last week, Thursday, at least five prisoner booted out of the correction facility after the managed to demolish a wall of the cell they were being held in.

According to information, the were urinating on wall with an aim of weakening it of which they ere successful.

However, the prison officers managed to re capture two inmates and three are still at large.

According to reports the two arrested officers are sergeants Edward Sherafu and Woner Chiwaula.

However, both the Malawi Police and the Prisons Service are feigning ignorance on the arrested of the two officers.

Meanwhile, prison and police authorities have instituted investigations to expose how the trio bolted from a cell that was holding 20 inmates at the facility.
