Two police trainees killed by speeding vehicle in Blantyre

Two police trainees who went jogging have died in the early hours of today after being hit by a car around Chichiri Independence Arch in Blantyre.

National Police spokesperson, Peter Kalaya, confirmed of the accident, saying they were hit by lorry belonging to Central Poultry.

He said the lorry was cruising when it hit a group of police recruits who were on a routine morning jog.

He said they were rushed to a hospital where the two were pronounced dead while several others have been injured.

Names of the deceased are yet to be revealed.
