Two people feared dead, 26 others rushed to QECH after being involved in accident at Clocktower

Two people are feared dead while 26 others have been rushed to Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital following a carnage caused by an over speeding minibus at Clocktower in Blantyre.

Blantyre police deputy publicist, Sgt. Aubrey Singanyama has confirmed of the accident in an interview with the press.

According to Singanyama, two of the injured are in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), and twenty-four others are receiving medical treatment.

It is said that the driver of the minibus which was coming from Chirimba direction heading towards the clocktower, had exceeded its capacity and attempted to evade traffic police officers before plunging into a saloon vehicle and hitting 5 pedestrians in the process.

The minibus overturned twice in the process.
