Two people have died while two others have sustained injuries after a truck they were traveling in overturned at Luanatonga in Nkhatabay Wednesday morning.

The truck registration number CZ 9551 and trailor reg number BV 2314 was carrying quarry stones from Karonga heading to Lujeri Mulanje.

According to an eye witness, Rajab Bwanali the driver of the truck lost control of the vehicle due to brake failure as it was descending the escarpments.

Mzuzu police spokesperson, Paul Tembo has confirmed that the two, driver of the truck and one front passenger whose details are yet to be established died on the spot while two other passengers have been rushed to Mzuzu central hospital.
